## Description

Brigantes Nation is a website dedicated to researching and exploring the history of the Brigantes, a tribe that inhabited West Yorkshire and the Pennine uplands before the arrival of the Romans. The name Brigantia represents a goddess, a people, and a tribal federation. This online platform allows users to contribute site notes, links, images, and even set up new sites that haven't been covered yet. The Brigantes were ruled by Queen Cartimandua in the early 50s AD, but she lost control of the tribe after an uprising led by her ex-husband Venutius in AD 69. The Romans eventually conquered the entire northern region of Britain. With limited historical information available, Brigantes Nation aims to uncover more about the Brigantes and their fascinating history. Join the community and become a part of this research to shed light on the ancient past of this mountainous region.
