## Description

Briggs Cunningham, a pioneering figure in American motorsports, is celebrated within the National Corvette Museum, where his legacy as a Le Mans Class Winner is immortalized in the Corvette Hall of Fame. His journey began in the early 20th century, bolstered by a wealthy background and a passion for racing. Cunningham initially constructed race cars before stepping into the driver's seat, showcasing his talent at renowned venues like Road America and Sebring.

The pinnacle of his contribution came in 1960 when he, alongside Chevrolet's Chief Engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov, propelled the Corvette into the global racing spotlight. With innovative modifications to the Corvettes for the grueling 24-hour Le Mans race, Cunningham not only competed but also laid the groundwork for future Corvette racing success, which includes eight subsequent victories. The museum offers a range of experiences, from plant tours to exciting car shows, celebrating the Corvette's rich history while honoring Cunningham’s significant impact on American motorsports.
