## Description

Brighton Ruby is a vibrant community-driven event that celebrates the Ruby programming language, focusing on inclusivity and responsibility. Founded by Andy Croll, the event emphasizes the importance of a Code of Conduct to foster a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees. The initiative began in 2018, encouraging organizers to be introspective about their roles in creating a positive environment.

In addition to the annual conference, Brighton Ruby offers a range of products and services, including a volunteer mentorship program known as “First Ruby Friend,” designed to support early career developers within the Ruby community. The brand also features a podcast, “Chats in the Cupboard,” which connects the Ruby communities of Brighton, UK, and Portland, USA. Through a fortnightly newsletter, “One Ruby Thing,” Andy Croll shares insights and updates, ensuring a continuous dialogue within the community. Brighton Ruby fosters growth, sharing knowledge, and nurturing relationships, all while making the Code of Conduct a fundamental aspect of its culture.
