## Description

The Bristol Ornithological Club (BOC) is a registered charity founded in 1967 to promote and coordinate the scientific study of birds in Bristol and the surrounding area. It supports public education in ornithology and wild-bird conservation, and works with local and national organisations to encourage research, surveys and the protection of birds and their habitats.

The club brings together people interested in birding through meetings, field trips, holiday reports and local bird-sighting resources. Its website shares information on where to watch birds, recording sightings, Bristol swifts, peregrine falcons and photographing wild birds. Members and visitors can also explore trip reports, galleries, blogs and updates on local bird activity. BOC helps produce the annual Avon Bird Report, offering a detailed account of birds recorded in the Bristol region, and signposts users to British Trust for Ornithology surveys and news. The club welcomes prospective members and provides ways to follow its activities and submit photographs.
