## Description

British Taekwondo is the national governing body for taekwondo in the United Kingdom, overseeing the martial art and its development as an Olympic and Paralympic sport. It supports a broad community of practitioners through affiliated clubs, membership services and pathways for athletes, coaches and officials. Visitors can use its club finder to locate a place to train or access information on joining and renewing membership.

The organisation promotes taekwondo as a family-friendly activity for people of all ages, with training that develops martial arts and self-defence skills alongside confidence and discipline. Its programmes also cover poomsae, the set movement patterns practised in training and contested in competition, as well as combat sport. British Taekwondo provides resources on rules, performance, coaching, grading and official licences, and offers coach education, courses and volunteering opportunities. Its calendar includes national championships, international events, grading events and camps. The organisation also publishes guidance on safeguarding, inclusion, health and safety, anti-doping and concussion education, and supports clubs and the wider taekwondo community.
