## Description

Bereitschaft Althegnenberg is a volunteer unit of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK), part of the Fürstenfeldbruck district association. Founded in 1960, it supports emergency response and community safety in Althegnenberg and the surrounding area. Its volunteers train regularly, work with local fire services, join district-wide exercises and assist other Red Cross units at major events and operations.

A key service is the Helfer vor Ort (HvO), an on-call first-response team established in 1995. Volunteers provide qualified first aid and immediate life-saving measures while ambulance or emergency medical services are on their way. The team is available on weekday evenings and overnight, and around the clock on weekends and public holidays. Members have at least specialist paramedic training and maintain their emergency-care skills through regular instruction and certification.

The unit also provides medical coverage at public events, including sports events and local celebrations. Event organizers can request a tailored service. Bereitschaft Althegnenberg is run entirely by volunteers and welcomes community support through donations and participation.
