## Description

Bereitschaft Bodenmais is a local unit of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK), serving Bodenmais and the surrounding area. With a tradition of community service dating back to 1929, the group currently has 66 members. Its work focuses on practical emergency support, public safety and education, delivered by volunteers and members of the local organization.

The unit provides medical services at public events, helping people who experience minor or more serious emergencies at gatherings such as concerts and street festivals. It also contributes to disaster response and supports the emergency medical service. Through its first-aid courses, Bereitschaft Bodenmais teaches participants how to respond appropriately in an emergency and provide potentially life-saving assistance. The organization also works with children and young people, helping introduce them to its community and humanitarian activities.

People can support the unit by becoming members, volunteering or donating. The site also encourages residents to contribute used clothing through a nearby clothing collection container, noting that donated garments help support the organization’s work.
