## Description

Brown Family Ranch is a Black-owned, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on the east side of Gary, Indiana. Located at 2246 Mississippi Street, the ranch has a history spanning more than 50 years. It began as a privately owned property associated with a love of country life and gaited horses, and is now operated by the Brown family. The ranch connects local residents with horses, community activities, and opportunities to learn and participate.

Its offerings include summer camps, events, and community outreach programs. The ranch also hosts the Mississippi St. Blues Fest, bringing music and local gathering opportunities to Gary. Through its Community Engagement Scholarship Program, Brown Family Ranch supports students pursuing education, including future nursing professionals. Its website provides information about camp galleries, videos, event calendars, vendor registration, sponsorship, scholarships, and employment applications. The ranch has also been featured in My Indiana Home magazine in connection with horses and locally grown food.
