## Description

**BRS Conventions**

BRS Conventions is a collective initiative focused on the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions, which are key multilateral environmental agreements aimed at safeguarding human health and the environment from hazardous chemicals and waste. The Basel Convention addresses the control of transboundary movements of hazardous wastes and their safe disposal. The Rotterdam Convention establishes a prior informed consent procedure for certain hazardous chemicals and pesticides, empowering countries to make informed decisions about their importation. The Stockholm Convention targets persistent organic pollutants (POPs) by prohibiting their production and use, thereby reducing ecological risks.

To enhance cooperation and coordination, BRS Conventions facilitates a synergies process that streamlines the implementation of these treaties at national, regional, and global levels. This approach fosters better resource utilization, improved technical assistance, and a more integrated environmental strategy. Through capacity development, public awareness campaigns, and partnerships with various stakeholders, BRS Conventions plays a vital role in promoting sustainable practices and effective environmental governance worldwide.
