## Description

Bruce Bennett Studios (BBS) is a photography business founded by Long Island photographer Bruce Bennett in 1973. Serving clients across the tri-state area, the studio became known for sports photography, especially hockey, as well as public relations photography and stock images of Long Island. After operating in Levittown and Hicksville, BBS moved to Farmingdale. Getty Images acquired the business in 2004, and Bennett joined Getty as Director of Photography for Hockey. Getty Images represents and licenses all two million images in the BBS collection.

Although BBS’s Long Island operation closed in 2005, its website continues to offer regional stock imagery. More than 30,000 Long Island images, with the collection growing monthly, depict local business, education, recreation, and scenic life. The archive includes color transparency and digital photographs available for editorial and commercial licensing. The website also features Bruce Bennett’s hockey photography in galleries covering historic images and seasons from 2004 through 2025, along with sports, multimedia, and other related features.
