## Description

BSC Watersports Center is a nature-based learning and outdoor activity provider located at Horai Beach on the western shore of Lake Biwa, near the foothills of the Hira Mountains in Shiga, Japan. Founded in 1973, the center has more than 50 years of experience offering instruction in sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. Its programs bring participants into contact with the lake and surrounding natural environment through activities designed for individuals, children, schools and other groups.

For individual visitors, BSC offers beginner-friendly experiences such as short kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding sessions. Its children’s programs include seasonal spring, summer and winter camps, as well as weekend challenge camps. For schools and organizations, the center provides Lake Biwa nature-based learning, educational travel programs and outdoor team-building activities. Offerings include collaborative learning designed to help participants build teamwork through trial and error, and a reed-straw-making experience developed with a university seminar. BSC also provides information about safety measures and practical resources for educational group visits.
