## Description

BTC.US is a platform for claiming and managing .BTC decentralized domain names, with a focus on making Bitcoin-based internet services easier to use. Its updated BNS v2 experience lets customers register and manage multiple .BTC names in one account. Users can search for an available name, register it through a Bitcoin-connected Stacks account, and manage their domains in one place while retaining self-custody.

.BTC names are registered through a smart contract on Stacks and secured by Bitcoin, with ownership anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain. BTC.US also connects .BTC domains with Lightning Addresses, enabling people to receive Bitcoin over the Lightning Network using an internet-style identifier rather than requesting an invoice for each payment. Its web bridge can link .BTC names to conventional DNS.
