## Description

The Buffalo Soldiers of Seattle is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community outreach organization based in the Tacoma/Fife area of Washington. For more than 20 years, it has served the Puget Sound and Greater Seattle-Tacoma community, sharing the history and legacy of African American Buffalo Soldiers and other often-overlooked heroes of the American West. Its programs combine historical education, outdoor activities, horsemanship, and community engagement to help participants build knowledge and life skills.

The organization offers youth cadet programs, summer camps, hikes, and bi-weekly educational forums for young people and families. Camps incorporate American history and practical life skills, while outdoor activities and equine therapy support mental health awareness. The Buffalo Soldiers of Seattle also visits K–12 schools, colleges, universities, museums, parades, festivals, and community events, traveling nationally to bring history to audiences. It supports historical societies and military-related groups, and welcomes donations to help fund its mission. Through education, youth guidance, inclusion, and preservation, the organization aims to connect the past with a stronger future.
