## Description

Builtsense is a prominent platform focused on advancing civil and structural engineering through technical insights and community engagement. It specializes in providing detailed information on various engineering processes, notably the Activated Sludge Process (ASP), an essential biological method for wastewater treatment developed in 1914 by Arden and Lockett. The platform highlights how the ASP utilizes a mixture of sewage and activated sludge that undergoes agitation and aeration in a dedicated tank, where bacteria naturally metabolize organic matter. This process not only converts contaminants into benign substances but also generates new bacterial cells. Through effective aeration and sedimentation, Builtsense emphasizes the importance of sludge characteristics in ensuring efficient treatment outcomes. The platform also addresses both the advantages and challenges of ASP, such as high BOD removal rates and sensitivity to operational conditions. By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, Builtsense positions itself as a go-to resource for professionals seeking to enhance their understanding of wastewater treatment technologies.
