## Description

Bumberrah Cemetery Trust cares for Bumberrah Cemetery, a rural cemetery on Harmans Road at the corner of Wyatt Road in Johnsonville, Victoria. Gazetted in 1885, the cemetery traditionally serves communities across the Parish of Bumberrah, including Nicholson, Nungurner, Johnsonville, Swan Reach and Metung. A local volunteer committee maintains the grounds as a peaceful and respectful place for families and visitors, with support from government grants and community donations.

The 10-acre site combines historic features and original vegetation with several burial and memorial options. Its monumental sections include Church of England, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, Methodist and non-denominational areas. There are also lawn burial sections, a niche wall for ashes, rose gardens that can accommodate ashes or memorial plaques, and a memorial wall. A dedicated natural burial area offers families an eco-friendly option in a setting surrounded by native trees and wildlife, and includes a memorial space for Chinese individuals. Visitor facilities include a gazebo, toilets and seating.
