## Description

Bund der Katzenfreunde e.V. is a nonprofit cat-protection organisation serving the Munich area, neighbouring districts, and beyond. Founded in 1982, it works to improve the lives of cats in need through rescue, care, and placement in suitable, loving homes. Its adoption service features cats seeking homes and offers individual guidance to help match each cat with a family. The organisation also supports the care of cats, arranges neutering campaigns for free-roaming cats, and promotes informed, responsible cat ownership. Alongside practical assistance, it advocates for stronger animal protection and better rights for animals.

The association has no shelter of its own, so foster homes are essential while cats await adoption. Its work is funded entirely by donations and supported by volunteers. People can contribute through monetary or in-kind donations, sponsorships, membership, or legacy gifts, and help as foster carers, drivers, flea-market volunteers, or by caring for feeding sites and assisting with trapping and neutering. Bund der Katzenfreunde also shares cat-care advice, news, events, and updates through its website and newsletter.
