## Description

Bunter Kreis Duisburg e.V. is a nonprofit organization supporting families in Duisburg, the Lower Rhine and the western Ruhr region when a child is premature, disabled, seriously ill or chronically ill. Since June 2002, it has helped families move from hospital care toward a more organized life at home, offering social-medical aftercare and practical, compassionate guidance during a challenging transition.

The organization’s team helps parents manage their child’s care, navigate medical appointments and therapies, and connect with a support network nearby. Family stories on its website describe assistance with medical equipment, feeding difficulties, recovery and the emotional strain of caring for a seriously ill child. Bunter Kreis Duisburg also shares information and experiences to help families understand the support available.

The association sustains its work through donations, corporate contributions, volunteers and supporting members. Its fundraising activities include “Flinke Nadeln,” a community handcraft group, as well as events and initiatives such as charity rides.
