## Description

Burnhouse Lochan is a fly-fishing fishery in Scotland’s central belt, offering anglers a peaceful country setting surrounded by wildlife. The picturesque three-acre lochan is fed by the Skipperton Burn, which continually supplies fresh water and supports natural feeding conditions. Its stocked fish include grade A rainbow, blue, brown and tiger trout, weighing between two and 20 pounds, alongside wild brown trout and grass carp. The setting is also home to resident red deer and free-range game birds, with visitors including ospreys, kingfishers, Canada geese and woodpeckers. The fishery is well suited to dry-fly, buzzer, nymph and fry-pattern fishing.

Burnhouse aims to make visits welcoming and enjoyable. Its team includes manager May, who is part of Scotland’s ladies fly-fishing team, and bailiffs Scott and Richard, who can share practical tips and advice. Anglers can buy fishing tickets, flies, and hot and cold food and drinks at the Scandinavian-style cabin. Booking is not essential but is recommended, particularly for busy weekends; website bookings are currently unavailable.
