## Description

BUTTER Fine Art Fair is an annual contemporary art event organized by GANGGANG, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit cultural development firm. Held over Labor Day Weekend, the fair presents artists from Indiana and across the country, with a focus on visual artists representing the global African diaspora. Its no-censorship, no-commission model is designed to advance care and economic justice: artists pay no participation fee and receive 100% of proceeds from artwork sales. The fair also makes admission free for guests aged 18 and under.

Beyond exhibitions, BUTTER offers experiences and programs that connect audiences with art and artists. These include curator-led presentations, Walk and Talk tours, education activities, and Camp BUTTER, which supports young people through art education, mentorship, and professional development. The event also features MELT, an after-dark dance party, and works with gallery partners to broaden its curatorial perspectives. Since 2021, BUTTER reports welcoming more than 75,000 attendees and facilitating over $2 million in artwork sales.
