## Description

Welcome to the European Butterfly Monitoring Scheme (eBMS)! We are a joint initiative between Butterfly Conservation Europe and the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, dedicated to promoting butterfly monitoring across Europe. By becoming a volunteer and counting butterflies, you can contribute to scientific research and help protect these beautiful creatures.

Joining eBMS is easy. Simply register on our website and follow the quick guide on setting up butterfly monitoring in your area. As part of one of the biggest citizen science networks, you'll be part of a community of thousands of volunteers who are already involved in butterfly conservation efforts.

To make your experience even more engaging, we offer various resources and tools. You can explore our online database to see European butterfly records submitted by volunteers from different places in Europe. Additionally, our ButterflyCount app allows you to easily count butterflies while doing transects or 15-minute counts, providing an opportunity to discover the diverse butterfly species in your area.

Stay informed with our latest news and updates, including explanatory videos about the eBMS website and the final results of our ABLE project. Download our multilingual eBMS app, ButterflyCount, to record butterflies wherever you go and access offline picture guides for butterfly identification.

We also provide valuable resources such as manuals for butterfly transect counts and technical reports on butterfly indicators. Your involvement in eBMS contributes to important monitoring reports on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals in an EU context.
