## Description

Buttons Project is a New Zealand charitable trust dedicated to supporting people affected by abortion, including women, men and families. Founded from a personal experience of abortion, the project offers a compassionate, non-judgmental space for people to remember, grieve and seek healing. Its central initiative invites people to send a button as a personal tribute to a life lost. Physical buttons are catalogued and sewn onto wall hangings intended for respectful memorial display, while the Virtual Buttons Memorial shares buttons and accompanying messages online. Participants may send a button, keep a matching one or take a photograph as a personal reminder. Beyond the memorial, Buttons Project aims to provide post-abortion recovery programmes and online support, connect people with counselling and peer networks, and share resources and awareness through community outreach and seminars. The trust also welcomes partners and donations to support its work. With an emphasis on listening and care, Buttons Project seeks to help people feel seen, valued and less alone as they navigate grief and healing.
