## Description

The Berufsverband der Deutschen Dermatologen e.V. (BVDD) is the professional association representing dermatologists in Germany, particularly those working in outpatient practices. It advocates for its members’ professional, economic and social interests and works to strengthen dermatological care. The association offers members training, continuing education, advice and practical resources, including information on practice management, contracts and professional issues.

The BVDD promotes access to innovative treatments for psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, and focuses on occupational skin diseases, skin cancer prevention, telemedicine, healthcare research and reducing the stigma faced by people with visible skin conditions. It also supports the next generation of dermatologists through JuDerm, its young dermatologists initiative, which aims to make entry into the specialty easier.

For patients and the wider public, the BVDD provides health information, campaigns and a dermatologist search tool. Its initiatives address skin cancer prevention and skin health at work, and share guidance on conditions including psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo, acne inversa and urticaria. The association also publishes news and organizes professional events and webinars.
