## Description

The Berufsverband der Datenschutzbeauftragten Deutschlands (BvD) e.V. is a German professional association representing and supporting data protection officers. It provides information and practical guidance on privacy and data protection, covering topics such as data policy, company and public-sector data protection, international data transfers, artificial intelligence, and relevant legislation. The association publishes positions, statements, news, and member resources, and organizes conferences, webinars, and other events for professional exchange and continuing education. Its training and development offerings include in-house courses, certification, and programs related to the data protection officer profession. BvD also helps users find data protection officers and jobs, and provides access to information about privacy software, practical tools, and data protection management systems. Its network includes regional groups, specialist working groups, and committees focused on areas such as healthcare, education, law, and technology. Through the nonprofit privacy4people gGmbH, BvD supports initiatives including “Datenschutz geht zur Schule,” which promotes accessible data protection education. The association also offers members a legal advice hotline and shares updates through its magazine and newsletter.
