Established in 2011, our mission is to design and promote innovative market-based solutions for the benefit of the economy, the environment, and people. Originally created to develop market mechanisms that facilitate compliance with Brazilian environmental laws, BVRio has now expanded its reach to different countries and regions worldwide.

Our services encompass a wide range of sectors, including Sustainable Land-Use, Agriculture, and Forests, Waste Management and the Circular Economy, and Climate Change and the Bioeconomy. We take a multidisciplinary approach to supporting the green economy, creating market mechanisms, developing tools and initiatives, and contributing to public policy and regulatory frameworks. With a strategic focus from 2021 to 2025, we strive to analyze and address sustainability barriers within various sectors.

Through careful stakeholder mapping, consultation, and regulatory framework changes, we design and develop innovative products and services that promote sustainability. BVRio is funded through philanthropic support, as well as revenue generated by the products and services we provide to the private sector. Our long-term financial sustainability allows us to continue creating and implementing market-based solutions that have a positive impact on the economy, the environment, and society.

As part of the wider BVRio Group, we have a strategic partnership with Sustainable Investment Management (SIM) to scale up our concepts and models. Our global impact extends to offices in the UK, China, Ghana, Indonesia, and the Netherlands, as we believe in the transferability of our solutions across different regions.
