BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue is a professional and dedicated fire and rescue brand located in Vernon, BC. Composed of thirty-one skilled and committed men and women, this Paid-On-Call department is equipped with six top-of-the-line apparatus to effectively handle any emergency situation. With a mission to provide efficient fire prevention, fire suppression, and rescue services, BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue serves the citizens of the BX–Swan Lake Fire Protection District.

They also offer mutual aid to other emergency services in the Regional District of the North Okanagan. Under the guidance of the Fire Chief, the department operates with a structured organizational system. The Fire Chief is supported by a Deputy Fire Chief, an Assistant Fire Chief, Captains, and Lieutenants who are responsible for overseeing their respective companies.

BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue responds to an average of one hundred and eighty calls per year, including structure fires, grass fires, vehicle fires, and burning bylaw infractions. They also provide assistance to the British Columbia Ambulance Service and mutual aid to other fire departments and the Ministry of Forests. With a strong focus on training, BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue ensures that their personnel are highly skilled and capable.

They provide ongoing training to their members, exceeding the B. C. Fire Fighter Training Standard.

Potential recruits undergo rigorous training courses, including the Recruit Fire Fighter Course and the B. C. Fire Fighter Level I standard, to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge.
