## Description

Byron Bay Winter Whales is a community-focused ocean swimming organisation that hosts an annual series of swims in Byron Bay, New South Wales. Held on the first Sunday in May, the events bring swimmers together to enjoy the waters around Cape Byron while raising thousands of dollars for local charities, groups and organisations. The programme includes the Byron Bay Property Sales Ocean Swim Classic, an approximately 2.2-kilometre swim from Wategos Beach to Main Beach, and the Byron Bay Chocolate Co Dash, an approximately 800-metre course from Clarkes Beach to Main Beach. Both events offer age-based divisions, including options for younger participants and swimmers aged 75 and over. The organisation provides event information, course details, race rules, entry forms, FAQs, results and news to help participants prepare. Entries are scheduled to open on 26 January each year, with participation guided by relevant health and local government conditions. Byron Bay Winter Whales also acknowledges the Arakwal people of the Bundjalung Nation as Traditional Custodians and encourages respect for Country and culture.
