## Description

Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music is a Santa Cruz, California-based organization dedicated to presenting new music for orchestra. Described as America’s preeminent and longest-standing festival focused solely on contemporary orchestral music, it brings composers, musicians, guest artists, and audiences together to explore bold new work and share a spirit of discovery. Its summer festival features performances by the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, including premieres and commissioned works, alongside opportunities to meet composers and learn about their creative process. The organization also offers open rehearsals, community events, educational programs, workshops, and a Youth Ensemble Program. Audiences can explore the Festival’s searchable program database, audio and video libraries, photo gallery, and other editorial content. Based in Santa Cruz, Cabrillo Festival supports its activities through donations, planned giving, sponsorship, program-book advertising, volunteers, and host opportunities. It also sells Festival merchandise, including apparel and accessories. Through its performances and programs, the Festival creates a welcoming setting for encountering new voices and ideas in orchestral music.
