## Description

The Canadian Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CACAP) is a national professional organization focused on child, youth and family psychiatry in Canada. It describes itself as a leader in the field, advancing its work through advocacy, education and professional expertise. CACAP connects and supports colleagues while promoting better care for children, youth and families.

The Academy offers membership options for psychiatrists, associates and members in training, with professional benefits that include access to its journal, continuing medical education, awards, advocacy opportunities and collaboration. Its educational activities include conferences and a National Seminar Series, alongside job opportunities and resources for members. Through its committees, position statements and advocacy work, CACAP provides ways for members to contribute to professional discussion and initiatives related to child and youth mental health.

Members can also take part in the annual general meeting, forums, knowledge-sharing activities and the member directory. CACAP’s work brings professionals together to learn, exchange expertise and support the development of mental health care for young people and their families across Canada.
