## Description

CAGWA, the California Age Group Wrestling Association, is a USA Wrestling-sanctioned youth folkstyle league based in Santa Ana, California. It helps young wrestlers develop confidence and stay involved in the sport by matching them with competitors of similar experience. The league serves athletes in six age divisions, from 6U through 16U, and separates many competitors into JV and Varsity levels. JV is intended for first-year wrestlers, while Varsity is for those in their second year or beyond.

CAGWA organizes a season of tournaments across Southern California, hosted by member clubs, with schedules, rules, weight classes, team forms, and online pre-registration available to participants. Wrestlers who meet the qualification requirements can compete at the League Finals, which also offer girls’ brackets. At the California Super Tournament, Varsity champions can earn a custom belt, a large medal, and free entry to the USA Wrestling Kids Folkstyle State Finals in Fresno. CAGWA’s development-first approach aims to give young athletes a fair opportunity to compete, improve, and remain engaged in California wrestling.
