## Description

Cajun Country Run is an annual running event in Lafayette, Louisiana, known as Acadiana’s oldest half-marathon. Established in 2002, it offers six race options at Acadiana Park for runners of different ages and abilities: a USATF-certified half-marathon, 5K and 10K road races, 5K and 10K trail races, and a one-mile fun run. The road courses are primarily paved, while the trail routes combine cross-country and single-track terrain, including technical sections beside the Vermilion River. The event also features age-group and overall awards, finishers’ medals, festive Santa costume prizes, and free runner photos provided through sponsor Giles Subaru. Cajun Country Run supports T.R.A.I.L., an organization whose proceeds have helped improve Acadiana Park and its nature trails, including trail-system enhancements and visitor map stands. The event provides registration information, course maps, race-day guidance, packet pickup details, and shuttle arrangements for participants. Held in December, Cajun Country Run brings together competitive athletes, recreational runners, and families for a community-focused race celebrating local outdoor spaces and holiday spirit.
