## Description

California Cooperative Oceanic Fisheries Investigations (CalCOFI) is a long-running ocean research partnership involving the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, NOAA Fisheries Service, and Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Its work focuses on studying the California Current and supporting research into ocean conditions, fisheries, and marine ecosystems. The CalCOFI website described here is an information and data archive, curated by a former Scripps-CalCOFI programmer and sea-going technician. It preserves metadata, research methods, historical materials, and links to datasets that have not yet migrated to the newer CalCOFI website.

The archive provides access to cruise records, survey and station information, sampling procedures, publications, reports, maps, and research resources. It also offers hydrographic and CTD data, including downloadable cast files and processed datasets, alongside information about data formats and quality control. Additional resources cover zooplankton, fish eggs, underway observations, and related projects. Visitors can explore historical survey coverage, ship and cruise details, fieldwork information, conference materials, and links to partner research and data services.
