The Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF) is Alberta's biggest film festival, offering a new hybrid-model experience that combines both in-cinema and virtual screenings. From September 24 to October 4, audiences can enjoy over 175 films of every genre, carefully selected from both local and international sources. CIFF's 21st edition also features virtual engagements with emerging and established filmmakers, providing a unique opportunity to connect with the creative minds behind the movies.

As the largest film festival in Alberta and the sixth-largest in Canada, CIFF has established itself as a cultural powerhouse. It is an Oscar-qualifying festival for short films and a Canadian Screen Award Qualifying festival. Additionally, MovieMaker Magazine has recognized it as one of 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee multiple times.

Outside of the annual festival, CIFF presents two film series year-round: Top Docs, featuring award-winning documentaries, and Global Perspectives, showcasing contemporary world cinema. The festival also hosts Oscar-Nominated Shorts screenings every February.
