## Description

The Calico Fort Arts and Crafts Fair is an annual outdoor arts and crafts event sponsored by the Fort Deposit Arts Council in Fort Deposit, Alabama. Celebrating its 54th show on April 11 and 12, 2026, the fair is among the oldest, largest, and most popular of its kind in the South. Set across six acres, it welcomes more than one hundred exhibitors and thousands of visitors, with adjacent parking and activities for all ages. Visitors can explore handmade arts and crafts, enjoy entertainment and food, and experience the event’s southern hospitality. The fair is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults and $2 for ages 2 to 18. Pets are not permitted inside the Fort, though the Humane Society offers a sitting service for donations. Each year, an independent judge selects seven exhibitors for awards totaling $2,500, supported by a grant from the Lowndes County Commission. Proceeds benefit community projects.
