As a brand, Calisphere offers free access to over two million unique and historically important artifacts for research, teaching, and curious exploration. Their collections include photographs, documents, letters, artwork, diaries, oral histories, films, advertisements, musical recordings, and more. These collections have been digitized and contributed by all ten campuses of the University of California, as well as other important libraries, archives, and museums throughout the state. Calisphere aggregates digital collections from over 300 cultural heritage organizations in California, each with their own specific collection emphases. They strive to provide responsible access to digital primary sources, guided by shared community values and standards. Calisphere also offers resources for educators, including information on using their materials in the classroom.
