## Description

The Campaign Opposing Police Surveillance (COPS) is a dedicated alliance comprising individuals, organizations, and legal representatives united against the invasive tactics of undercover police operations in the UK. Formed in response to shocking revelations about the surveillance of political movements, particularly the targeting of families like the Lawrence family, COPS advocates for accountability and transparency in policing practices. The campaign sheds light on the egregious actions of undercover officers, including forming intimate relationships with those they are surveilling and employing the identities of deceased children for undercover operations.

COPS is committed to raising public awareness about these injustices and calls for an independent public inquiry with the authority to compel police officers to testify. They aim to ensure that such violations of civil rights are not repeated in a democratic society. Through collaboration with various legal professionals and advocacy groups, COPS seeks to protect the integrity of political activism and safeguard the rights of individuals against unlawful surveillance practices.
