## Description

Camp Communicate is an inclusive summer speech camp based in Auglaize County, Ohio, serving children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) and other significant speech sound disorders. Now welcoming campers for its sixth year, the program brings together children and families from across the United States for a week that combines communication-focused learning with the fun of summer camp. The camp’s approach emphasizes confidence, friendships, and communication growth in a supportive environment where each child is encouraged and celebrated.

Campers receive one-to-one speech therapy with trained speech-language pathologists experienced in motor planning and Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC). The program also includes large- and small-group activities, interactive games, play, music, and snack time. Speech-language pathologists, intervention specialists, a music therapist, occupational and physical therapists, and other trained staff contribute to the camp experience. Families can take part in parent education sessions, a cookout and fellowship, and family excursions. Camp Communicate offers a positive setting where children can build communication skills while enjoying shared activities and making lasting memories.
