## Description

Camp Sherman Days is a community-wide historical commemoration held in Chillicothe, Ohio, marking the 100th anniversary of the World War I training camp established north of the city. The event honors the soldiers who trained at Camp Sherman and remembers the military and civilian lives affected by the war. From July 1 to 9, 2017, residents and visitors were invited to explore the history of the camp and the experiences of those who lived and served there.

The program brought together local organizations and venues for a week of events, including a living history encampment, historic and modern equipment displays, weapons demonstrations, driving and walking tours, talks, performances, a parade, and family activities. Visitors could also attend special exhibitions on World War I and local history, including displays at the Chillicothe-Ross County Library and Pump House Center for the Arts. With activities across the city and at historic sites, Camp Sherman Days offered an educational way to remember the camp’s role in preparing American troops and to recognize the sacrifices made during the war.
