The Canadian Association for Play Therapy (CAPT) is a leading organization that focuses on training, research, standard setting, and advocacy on behalf of clinicians and the children and families they serve. CAPT offers a range of membership options with numerous benefits, providing opportunities for professionals to connect and access valuable resources.

Training is a crucial component of CAPT's mission, and they offer comprehensive courses such as Foundation Play Therapy and Annual Conference sessions to enhance the skills of their members. Additionally, CAPT ensures the quality and proficiency of play therapy practice in Canada through their certification program, which adheres to strict standards and offers helpful certification forms.

To keep therapists informed, CAPT provides a variety of publications and resources. Their brochure on Play Therapy explains how it benefits children, while Playground Magazine, published bi-annually, serves as the official voice of the association. CAPT also releases monthly newsletters to keep members updated on news, events, and happenings.

CAPT's recent initiatives include a mission to connect children, youth, adults, families, and communities with play therapy education and certification. Their vision and values center on strengthening voices, health, and well-being through support, connection, education, and certification. By prioritizing connections, growth, inclusion, and education, CAPT aims to promote the healing therapeutic powers of play and play therapy.
