By offering education, outreach, advocacy, and support services, CANAPI creates a safer, more inclusive environment, free from shame and discrimination.

Their vision is to create a world where LGBTQ+ people and those living with HIV/AIDS can thrive in safe, uplifting communities. They strive to reduce HIV transmission, LGBTQ+ homelessness, violence, and discrimination, while increasing access to healthcare, quality housing, educational opportunities, and empowering community spaces. CANAPI believes that when individuals have the necessary tools and resources, they can lead safe, independent, healthy, and joyful lives.

With a rich history dating back to 1990, CANAPI has been at the forefront of providing special housing and support services to those living with HIV. Over the years, they have expanded their reach and merged with organizations such as the Akron Pride Center to form CANAPI.
