## Description

The Canberra Ornithologists Group (COG) is an engaging community dedicated to the exploration and conservation of the diverse bird life in Canberra, Australia. Known for supporting the study and enjoyment of avian species, COG emphasizes the importance of collaboration and volunteering in their initiatives. With over 200 recorded bird species in the region, including emus and tiny weebills, COG provides resources and activities that promote bird observation and reporting.

The group organizes numerous field trips, monthly meetings, and special events such as the Honeyeater Migration Survey and the Annual Bird Blitz to foster a deeper appreciation for local birds and their habitats. COG also offers educational publications, such as the "Birds of Canberra Gardens Book" and various brochures, to help enthusiasts learn about avian care and conservation strategies. By joining COG, members contribute to conserving native birds and their ecosystems while enjoying the rich, ever-changing tapestry of Canberra’s birding scene.
