## Description

Canine Companions is a leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities by providing expertly trained service dogs at no cost to the recipients. Established in 1975, the organization has successfully placed over 7,700 service dogs through its six regional training centers across the United States. Canine Companions not only focuses on pairing individuals with these extraordinary dogs but also offers ongoing support to ensure a quality partnership.

The organization engages the community through volunteer opportunities, including becoming a puppy raiser or a breeder caretaker, and hosts events like DogFest and galas. They also advocate for service dog awareness and conduct research to improve their training methods. With a commitment to supporting veterans and providing resources for graduates and puppy raisers alike, Canine Companions is more than just a service dog provider; it’s a community dedicated to transforming lives through the remarkable bond between people and dogs.
