## Description

Cannonball Read (CBR) is a dynamic online book challenge dedicated to reading and reviewing books while raising funds for the American Cancer Society. Established in 2008 as an initiative by the Pajiba community, CBR honors the memory of Amanda "AlabamaPink" Amos, a passionate advocate in the fight against cancer who sadly passed away in 2009. Participants, affectionately known as "Cannonballers," can choose to read 13, 26, or 52 books in a year, sharing their insights through public reviews. Since its inception, CBR has fostered a supportive community that has collectively read thousands of books and raised over $10,000 for cancer-related causes. The organization also hosts multiple events like a Book Club, Book Bingo, and friend-based reading challenges to engage and inspire readers of all backgrounds. Through its mission to "Fight Cancer," Cannonball Read continues to encourage literature appreciation while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
