## Description

Canterbury Christmas Market is an annual festive event operated by Rockhopper Events Ltd, bringing seasonal celebrations to the heart of historic Canterbury. The 2026 market opens on November 12 and runs for 43 days, with free entry and no tickets required for general admission. It spans three areas: the Cathedral Precincts, Whitefriars and St Georges. More than 120 traditional wooden huts host 172 stallholders across 137 pitches, making it one of the largest Christmas markets in the South East and the largest in Kent.

Visitors can browse Christmas-themed stalls featuring handcrafted ornaments, distinctive gifts and seasonal decorations, while enjoying festive food and drink such as mulled wine, hot chocolate and other treats. Seasonal music and live performances add to the atmosphere. The programme also includes bookable activities and family attractions, including Santa’s Grotto, Breakfast with Santa, Santa Paws and virtual reality experiences. Some activities require advance booking, with bookings opening October 1. The market provides visitor information and opportunities for traders, performers and sponsors to take part.
