## Description

Cantiere Rustici is a carnival association based in Foiano della Chiana, Italy, with a tradition dating back to 1933. It takes part in the Carnevale di Foiano, creating elaborate allegorical floats and performances for the annual celebration. The association brings its projects to life through a collaborative process that includes developing float concepts and models, designing costumes and choreography for the Mascherata Rustica, building large papier-mâché figures, and rehearsing for the competition. Its work combines visual storytelling, music, dance, and theatrical spectacle, with the aim of entertaining audiences and competing for prizes. Cantiere Rustici presents its creations in an online gallery, including “Apriti Cielo,” listed as its 2026 competition float, and earlier works such as “Alla ricerca del canto perduto,” “Terapia d’urto,” and “Amore e Guerra.” The group reports 27 victories in the float competition, one additional victory, and 13 Mascherata trophies. Its social colors are white and light blue, and its emblem is an elephant. Through its longstanding carnival participation, Cantiere Rustici celebrates local creativity, craftsmanship, and performance.
