About
Description
CAPCOG, or the Capital Area Council of Governments, is a regional organization that has been advocating for collaboration and coordination on important issues within the Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown Metropolitan Statistical Area for over 50 years. With over 90 member governments and organizations, including cities, counties, school districts, and chambers of commerce, CAPCOG serves as an advocate, planner, and coordinator for the region. CAPCOG offers a wide range of products and services to support its mission of strengthening the ten-county region of Central Texas.
These include care guidance and services such as benefits counseling, care coordination, caregiver support, and health and wellness information. CAPCOG also provides data and maps, funding and grants opportunities, outreach and education programs, as well as reports and publications. With a focus on regionalism, CAPCOG works towards eliminating unnecessary duplication and promoting collaboration in areas such as emergency communications, law enforcement training, transportation planning, economic development, and infrastructure development.
By fostering coordination, collaboration, and sharing of ideas and resources, CAPCOG aims to support urban and rural local governments and continue to strengthen the Capital of Texas region
