## Description

Cape RADD is a marine field station and research and education organization based in the False Bay area of Cape Town. It promotes marine science, conservation and meaningful connections with the ocean through hands-on field experience, citizen science and adventure. Its programs give students and participants practical ways to learn about marine ecosystems and contribute to research and conservation.

Training includes marine biology and conservation field courses, scientific data collection, underwater survey techniques, and marine research methods, supported by SCUBA and freediving instruction. Cape RADD also offers SSI courses, from beginner and refresher training to specialties and advanced diver development. Participants can join conservation volunteering, university field trips, research groups and guided snorkel or scuba experiences focused on local marine life. Activities include citizen science projects such as identifying sharks for Fin Spotter, boat expeditions in False Bay, and seasonal Sardine Run trips.

Cape RADD’s work is led by marine biologists and dive professionals, with research, education and community outreach at its core.
