## Description

Capital Basketball serves as Wellington’s premier hub for basketball, established as a charitable trust in 2016. It is dedicated to fostering a ‘fair play’ culture that empowers youth through the sport while extending its influence into the community. With a mission to enhance access and promote youth development, Capital Basketball supports local associations throughout the Greater Wellington region, including areas like Kapiti, Porirua, Hutt Valley, and Wairarapa.

The trust offers a variety of programs aimed at encouraging participation among young people. Initiatives such as BNZ Kiwi Hoops, Girls Got Game, and 3x3 Basketball provide pathways for skill development and physical fitness. Additionally, Capital Basketball promotes community engagement through events like the Matariki Festival and resources for coaches and referees.

Governed by a dedicated Board of Trustees, Capital Basketball prioritizes inclusivity and well-being, ensuring that every individual, regardless of background, has the opportunity to experience the joy and benefits of basketball.
