About

Description

Capitol Hill Pride is a non-profit volunteer organization that is proud to have started the annual Capitol Hill Pride Festival in 2009. The festival aims to create awareness and support for the LGBTQAI community. As an all-volunteer non-profit, Capitol Hill Pride welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.

The festival features a March & Rally, showcasing the vibrant and diverse community of Capitol Hill. With the support of its directors and various organizations, Capitol Hill Pride has become the largest street festival in the area. Notably, it has also played a crucial role in saving trees and establishing a city ordinance in Seattle.

The organization is led by Charlette LeFevre, the current Director of Capitol Hill Pride, who has been actively involved in community activities and social justice issues. Another key member is Philip Lipson, a librarian and researcher, who has contributed extensively to the museum's operations. Together, they have written a book on a significant historical event and have been recognized for their expertise in local history.
