## Description

Active Disability Ireland is a national organisation working to improve opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in sport and physical activity. Its vision is an Ireland where people with disabilities have equal opportunities to be active. The organisation provides a collaborative platform and supports the sport and physical activity sector to become more inclusive through accessible, interactive online training and education.

Its initiatives include the Sport Inclusion Disability Charter, which promotes participation in sport and physical activity, and the Xcessible Programme for national governing bodies and local sports partnerships, supported by a club toolkit and roadshows. Active Healthy Me is a health and wellbeing programme delivered in adult day services to build awareness and understanding of physical activity’s benefits. The organisation also undertakes research, shares resources on topics such as fitness, leisure, outdoor activities and disability awareness, and hosts events including its National Conference. Through these programmes, resources and partnerships, Active Disability Ireland helps organisations and communities develop more inclusive opportunities and encourages greater participation among people with disabilities.
