Caractacus Housing is a registered charity established in July 2003 with the aim of providing affordable rental accommodation for those with low income and strong local ties to West Somerset and Mid-Devon. With over 20 properties in their portfolio, Caractacus Housing has been able to help many individuals and families find a secure and comfortable home. In addition to housing, the charity also offers financial and material assistance to those in need, including providing IT and business equipment, funding travel expenses for college or hospital visits, and supporting monthly support groups for children affected by bereavement or illness in the family.

Caractacus Housing has also contributed to community projects, such as a new MRI scanner at a local hospital and the Exmoor Young Voices project. Their area of operation includes several parishes, and their logo, the Caractacus Stone, is a recognizable symbol in the community.
